Uriko is the cute and perky character of the rather dark Bloody Roar series. Like the other people in that series, she is a zoanthrope, a human with the ability to transform into animals, albeit Uriko is only a half-beast because of the lasting effects from the experimentation conducted on her as a child. In contrast to her more serious and somber allies, Uriko is playful, enthusiastic, warm, friendly, optimistic, and her closest friend has also claimed she can be quite loud. She has an obvious crush on said friend, Kenji Ohgami, who is another zoanthrope the same age as her. They also attend the same school together, and he often gives her rides home when their last classes finish for the day.

Uriko lives with her mother, Mitsuko, and Alice, her adopted sister. Even though she is usually carefree and enjoys life to the fullest, she has a serious side when the situation calls for it. She would go to great lengths for her family with no regard for her own safety, as was evidenced by the way she left home on her own to rescue Mitsuko during one instance. Her fighting style is Kenpo, which she learned from Long Shin, another zoanthrope that she has known since her days at Tylon. Currently, her beast counterpart is a cat, although there have been allusions to Uriko being able to somehow obtain her former werechimera form once again. Maybe when certain events happen in the future…

Uriko maintains a fairly positive outlook on life, despite all that had happened to her. At around 8 or 9 years old, she was kidnapped by the Tylon Corporation to be used in an experiment that created super beast soldiers. To ensure her cooperation, she was brainwashed and converted into the body of an adult woman that stored the power of a synthetic transformation known as a werechimera. During her stay at Tylon, Uriko befriended an older girl named Alice, who had been kidnapped for similar reasons. Uriko helped Alice escape from Tylon, but the young girl couldn’t break free herself. Later, she was forced to fight against both friends and foe alike, including her own mother and Alice. But a group of rebels joined together and managed to help free her from the brainwashing. Once she regained her conscious state of mind, Uriko returned home with her mother and Alice, who was adopted into the family.
